IBI surveyed 772 employers about their interest and experience in putting in place health and productivity management (HPM) practices. We found that 62% of respondents adopt or plan to adopt at least one HPM practice. When employers buy in to HPM, they show strong interest. On average, those with HPM programs adopt almost seven practices, and 24% have 10 practices or more. Employers with HPM are likely to be larger and have an orientation toward coordinating or integrating employee benefits. The top 10 practices employers adopt show a range of education, management and prevention approaches. Impediments to HPM are both surprising and manageable, and satisfaction with HPM practices is relatively high.
