Update on IBI's Focus and Operations

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to compel businesses to re-evaluate their future focus, investments and needs, we are making sure that IBI remains a responsive, valuable and engaged organization during these challenging times. To reaffirm IBI’s mission and agenda for the remainder of the year, the Executive Committee and IBI staff have been meeting to assess our roadmap moving forward.

I am writing to let you know that IBI’s focus and business operations remain vibrant. We will continue moving forward with our full research agenda, Board of Directors retreat in July, various regional programs including the joint program with the Greater Philadelphia Business Group on Health on data and analytics for employers and the biosimilars program with the Pacific Business Group on Health, as well as our Annual Health and Productivity Forum with the Conference Board in September. We will continue to monitor the evolving situation and will adapt our programs in alignment with the latest CDC guidelines to ensure that our staff, members, and community are kept safe and healthy.

I also want to announce that IBI has hired Kelly McDevitt to be the new Director of Development for the organization starting May 1. Kelly McDevitt was most recently a senior executive with United Healthcare and has extensive experience with leadership, sales and account management. In her most recent role, she was National Vice President, Collaborative Ventures and Advanced Analytics and maintained a client list that included Delta Airlines, Comcast, Bank of America and Lowe’s. At IBI, Kelly will be responsible for maintaining existing relationships within our member community and developing new membership and revenue streams for the organization.

Lastly, as many of you know, IBI created the Center for Work Force Health and Productivity in 2016 as a 501C-3 research organization. IBI’s Research Director Dr. Brian Gifford will expand his responsibilities and assume the presidency of the Center as well. This will allow us to expand research funding opportunities on key issues of health and productivity.

Emerging changes from the pandemic will make independent research on health and productivity more critical to employers and policymakers than ever. IBI will work to continue to be a leader in these important endeavors and provide data and research to aid the business community in moving past the challenges we face today.
