Over the past 20 years, advancements in medical care have caused drastic changes. Medical innovations and practice improvements have caused health care providers and employers to struggle to maintain an accurate perception of how long-term trends in short-term disability and absence fit in with these changes. This session reported on a 20-year retrospective that unveils how trends in employee claims can be used to maximize present employee health and productivity. By examining health, culture, environment and absence practices, the discussion showed how to impact the quality of employee health and the bottom line.
