At the 2013 IBI/NBCH Health & Productivity Forum in Dallas, IBI president Dr. Thomas Parry and IBI’s Dr. Brian Gifford discuss the findings of new IBIresearch on family and medical leave. The report suggests that FMLA can be an effective “early warning system” to help promote employee health and prevent future absences. The report analyzes data from 2007-2011, and culled from 161 businesses and 520,000 covered employees. A response panel includes senior executives from Pacific Gas & Electric, Safeway, Mercer-Trion and Reliance Standard Life Insurance/Matrix Absence Management.
